The perfect leather jacket should not be as elusive as it is. I've been searching for twenty plus years, though, and it still has not appeared in my closet.
I've been motorcycling for twenty-six years. I've had a custom-made race suit, an off-the rack one-piece, a RoadCrafter, and Aerostich's Darien jacket and pants.
Leather jackets are iconic, probably in large part because form has followed function. The B-3 Bomber jacket, perhaps the most iconic leather jacket, kept aviators warm in trying conditions.
The Hein Gericke V-Pilot. A teutonic piece of gear. Functional, but a little odd, with its integrated kidney belt. And also brutal looking.
This is AGV's traditional (read: not logo festooned) take on a bomber jacket, sans the shearling collar, and cut for riding.
This is probably one of the best quality jackets in its price range made. Very close to the perfect jacket.
